What is a certified hand therapist?
A certification in hand therapy requires an OT to have a minimum of 4,000 hours providing rehabilitation for individuals with injuries from the hand to the shoulder. It requires the therapist to be knowledgeable of the latest surgical techniques and the detailed rehabilitation that often follows these intricate surgeries. The therapist must pass a rigorous examination and demonstrate ongoing competency through continuing education.
