Hand Fractures

In the handout below, the American Society of Hand Therapists explains the common treatments and symptoms of a fracture in the hand. A fracture is a break in any bone that often causes pain, inflammation, and sometimes deformities. After a fracture, you will typically wear a cast to allow the bone time to heal. A certified hand therapist is key in your recovery following cast removal.

At Ability we specialize not only in hand fractures, but also fractures that may occur in the wrist, forearm, elbow, or upper arm. Specialized therapy is essential to ensure that you get the highest level of motion, strength, and functional use of your hand or arm after a fracture. If you have questions about how Ability Hand to Shoulder Rehabilitation can help you recover from an upper extremity fracture, please contact us.
