Rotator Cuff Tears

Did you know that certified hand therapists specialize in rehabilitation from the shoulder to the hand? Hand therapists are trained to provide highly skilled therapy for the entire upper extremity…not just the hand.

The American Society of Hand Therapists explains the symptoms and treatment strategies for rotator cuff tears below. Tears can occur from a sudden injury or “wear and tear,” where arthritis, friction, and inflammation ultimately lead to a tear over time. Depending on the severity of the tear, your physician may suggest seeking out a certified hand therapist to start therapy. In some cases, a surgical procedure to repair the tear may be required before you begin therapy.
